Decent service, minor speed issues

I signed up for the Original FatCow Plan when I started my small business site a few months ago. The introductory price was a great deal, and the setup process was pretty straightforward. I even registered my domain through them. My main complaint is that page load times can be a bit slow sometimes, especially during peak hours. Customer support was helpful when I had a question about setting up email, but it took a while to get a response initially. Overall, it's good value for the money, but don't expect lightning-fast performance.

Easy setup, great for beginners!

I just launched my first website using their Website Builder and it was so easy! I was worried about getting everything online, but the tools were really intuitive. I even got a free domain with my hosting plan, which was a nice bonus. The whole process was smooth and I'm really happy with how my site looks. I'd definitely recommend FatCow to anyone starting out with a small business website!

Good hosting for the price

I got the Shared Web Hosting plan last month. Setup was quick, and my site has been running fine. It was really affordable with the intro offer. No issues so far, happy with it.

If I get the hosting and then decide it's not for me, is there a money-back guarantee? Like, how long do I have to bail?

K Kevin C. 2 months ago
Yep, they have one. It's usually 30 days for hosting plans, just make sure to read the fine print cause some things like domain registrations might not be refundable.

You get a 30-day window for sure. I canceled once and got my money back no problem, just had to pay for the domain I registered since that's a separate cost.

Hey guys, thinking about signing up for FatCow. I saw some old promos for like $1 hosting. Is that still a thing or just ancient history?

B Ben Y. 3 months ago
Yeah, they still run those kinds of intro deals. Usually for new signups and it's for the first term. After that, it renews at their regular price which is higher.

i think it's mostly through links you click, not really a coupon code you type in. that's how i got my first year super cheap anyway.

Is FatCow still a legit host? I remember them from back in the day but haven't heard much lately. Is it still active?

M Mike 3 months ago
Yeah, they're still around. They're owned by this huge company now, Newfold Digital, which owns a bunch of other hosts too.

Totally still active. They haven't gone anywhere. They just aren't as 'loud' as some of the newer hosts I guess.

Are renewal prices much higher after the intro deal ends? trying to budget out a few years.

R Rachel N. 2 months ago
Oh yeah, they jump up. A lot. Expect it to go from like $1-3 a month to maybe $10-15 or so. That's pretty standard for most hosts though.

My plan renewed at around triple the intro rate. It's definitely something to factor in. They don't really do renewal discounts unless you try to haggle with them.

Anyone know if they're having any Black Friday deals this year? Or should I just jump on whatever intro offer is going now?

A Amber Nguyen 3 months ago
They almost always have Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales. Usually even better than the regular intro offers. I'd wait if you can.

I'd hold off. They definitely do seasonal promos like BF/CM. You might get a deeper discount or a longer intro period.
